How To Run Heavenly Race.

TOPIC:   HOW TO RUN HEAVENLY RACE.

BIBLE READING: Hebrew 12:1-3.

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 9:24.

INTRODUCTION:

Few days ago, we discussed a special topic ‘HEAVEN’ outlining it’s attributes and concluded that it is a reality prepared for over-comers/saints to inherit and dwell forever.
Today let’s look at how you can run heavenly race to become an overcomer/saint.

1). Run the race through the narrow gate – (Matthew 7:13-14) *”Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:Because strait is the gate, and narrow[is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it”.*

*2). Run the race in alignment with the word of God-(2Tim 3:16)

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”

3). Run the race looking up to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.(John 14:6)

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.

4). Run with the past behide you – (2 Corinthians 5:17)

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”.

5).*Run with boldness -(Act 4:13)

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus”.

6). Run the race with patience-(Heb 12:1)

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”.

7). Run the race with expectations-(1 Corinthians 9:24)

” Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain”.

8).*Run the race with self-control and self-consciousness – (1Corithains 9:27)

” But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway”.

9). Run the race with vision. God told Abram to look north south, east and West that whatever he sees he and his descendants will possses.-(Gen 13:15)

” For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever”.

10). Run the race avoiding seasonal travels.Mind your christian role model – (Ephesians 4:14)

*”That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”.*

CONCLUSION:

Imbibe the culture of praising and worshipping God at all times knowing that, that is heavenly culture.

PRAYER:

As we run this heavenly race may we so run with certainty that we will earn heavenly crown in Jesus name.
