TOPIC: INDECENT DRESSING.

BIBLE READING: Genesis 3:1-21

TEXT: Genesis 3:10,21

INTRODUCTION:

Every human being is expected to cover his or her body. Clothes are majorly to cover our nakedness – (Genesis 3:7) And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. Your dressing pattern is a reflection of your inward personality, that is the culture of your modest character. Your dressing determine the perception of others about you how they addressed and treated you also.

However, This issue of indecent dressing is becoming more rampant in the society we live in, why because many people think exposing their body outside is something classy and by the way this is not something classy, This is immoral and totally against our norms and values of our society.

This issue is worsening our society since it contradict the norms and values of our culture because these have never been seen as something classy in the society we live in, but because of the lack of perinatal of upbringing ample of our female students, children, youths or ladies, think dressing half-naked is something trendy.

Rape is becoming frequent activity in our society why because tons of our female students and youths think dressing half-naked is norms and this obscene jeopardize the feelings of a lot of lectures and even their fellows in the school. Indecent  dressing has even became a know go area in some of our churches today.

WHY WE SHOULD DRESS DECENTLY.

 1).  Because God corrected indecent dressing: Adam and wife found they were naked and decided to cover themselves with leaves and God saw they were not properly covered and He made proper coverage for them – (Genesis 3:21) Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

2).  Because of divine instruction of moderation – (1 Timothy 2:9) In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

3).  Because it’s a way of professing Godliness – (1 Timothy 2:10) But which becometh women professing godliness with good works.

4). Because we are not permitted to wear transparent clothes that exposes our neckidness – (Philippians 4:5) Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

5). Because believers dressing should reflect the glory of God – (Exodus 28:2 & 40) And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. (v40) And for Aaron’s sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.

6). Because dressing promotes culture and professionalism – (Exodus 2:19) And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

7).  Because our body is the temple of the holy ghost and must be kept decent. (1 Corinthians 6:19) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own.

8).  Because indecent dressing promotes the old man – (Ephesians 4:22) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

9).  Because indecent dressing promotes immorality – (1 Corinthians 6:9) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.

CONCLUSION:

Dress decently, moderately, beautifully and gloriously for the glory of God. Don’t wear dresses that is revealing your body, transparent and exposing, It is very ungodly.

May the Lord God Almighty grant us the understanding to be Godly in all our ways in Jesus name.
