Renowned Evangelist Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai Passes Away at 80

The Christian community is mourning the loss of a spiritual giant, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who passed away on October 6th, 2025, at the age of 80. As the founder and president of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Rev. Dr. Ukpai left an indelible mark on the lives of millions through his decades-long ministry of evangelism, teaching, and humanitarian work.

Rev. Dr. Ukpai’s dedication to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ took him to various parts of the world, earning him recognition as one of the most influential Christian leaders in Nigeria. He was also a founding father of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), an umbrella body that brings together various Pentecostal churches across the country.

A Life of Service and Impact

Born on January 7, 1945, in Asaga, Ohafia, Abia State, Rev. Dr. Ukpai dedicated over six decades of his life to fiery evangelism, dynamic teaching of the Word, and prophetic demonstrations of the power of God. His ministry impacted millions of lives and transformed destinies within Nigeria and beyond
